Waiting for the Balearic Shearwater...

... who was seen in Vejers but not from us five observers in Blåvand.

Hello everyone!

We did not have many birds at the ringing today, but we did have four very pretty Siskins, which I saw for the first time in my time here.

In the meantime, we received a message, that a Balearic Shearwater had been seen in Vejers and that we might soon see it in Blåvand. During a break from ringing, Bent, Jonas and I also came to the beach. Sebastian and Jonas´ father Kurt, who was visiting us today, were alredy an the lookout. After a while, we had to go back to the nets whithout seeing the Balearic Shearwater, but the others did not spot it later eigther.

Other highlights included 4-5 merlins and quite a lot of ducks. Probably the best day for ducks so far this season, which was nice.
