A flock of Redpolls
Henrik and I opened the nets in the morning and had a very nice ringing day.
We were lucky to catch some Redpolls, most of them Common Redpolls (Stor Gråsisken). If I remember correctly, the last flock we had was around one week ago, so it was good to see those birds again. Apart from that, Great and Blue Tits (Musvit and Blåmejse) were very common today. I was happy about a beautiful adult male Greenfinch (Grønirisk), which we have not had for some time. Including the recaptures, we caught over 40 birds today! You can see the full numbers at the bottom. In between the netrounds, flocks of Common Crossbill (Lille Korsnæb) were feeding on the pine trees in the garden, and I very much enjoyed looking at those beautiful birds. Overall Henrik and I were very happy with the outcome of this day.
