Swiss chocolate

mandag 30. september 2024
af Leona og Louis

Observations:

Ringing:

This morning was quite windy. We checked the wind and were able to open the nets and managed to catch 20 new birds. The highlight was another first year female brambling. Around we closed the nets not quite satisfied but looking forward to the next days, when maybe the conditions will get better, for ringing.

After the ringing Hanelie, Lorin and I went to Spar for shopping. We separated afterwards because Hanelie and Lorin needed some stuff. I already went on to Reginevej trying to find some nice birds. Suddenly a red deer appeared in the trees! I took out my camera and were able to get really close and take some nice pictures.

Afterwards I met Hanelie to find us a nice rarity. We kept staring in the bushes but all that looked back at us were some Chaffinches, Chiff Chaffs and some siskins. Afterwards we found a common frog hopping in the grass.

We then saw Lorins bike lying there. We were reunited once more. Lorin then told us about his amazing lifer of a Pallid harrier(Steppehøg). It was hunted by a Sparrowhawk. In the evening lorin cooked us some nice Pad Thai and gave us a present from switzerland. The famous swiss chocolate!
