Lisa Flam:
Even though it was a wet day it was only due to the drizzle and not heavy rain, so we could have the nets open all morning!
It seems to be a thrush day- out of 32 new ringed birds we had 11 thrushes!
Sadly, I was present to see a beautiful MALE Ring Ouzel (ringdrossel) fly OUT OF THE NET. On of those moment I just feel sad. No more to it. Also Bent and I saw a Sparrowhawk (spurvehøg) fly really close to the nets but it just missed them by a bit. We can’t always be lucky I guess.

Today I finally understood what everyone was telling me the past 2 months about week 42- and I have to say it is impressive! So many birdwatchers, a nice pleasant atmosphere, and lots of nice birds! There is excitement in the air.
It's nice getting to know some more birdwatchers from around the country and being a part of this amazing week. I’m looking forward to the rest of this week!

At 11 David joined me and we had the intention to keep the nets open for a few more hours but at around 13:00 we heard about a Red Phalarope (thorshane) seen not too far from here, the rain was increasing and we decided it was time to close the nets and go out birdwatching! I finally got to enjoy some bird watching; I’ve been ringing for months already (what a dream come true!), but do feel the lack of birdwatching, so it was nice for a change to enjoy both. Thank you, David, for letting me tag along!
Hoping for an amazing week with lots of birds, nice company and, hopefully, less rain!
This is what Blåvand is all about. Good people to share birding moments with. This time the magic was with David and a tiny 1cy male Goldcrest (fuglekonge). Captured the moment: Lisa Flam
